Software Developer/Engineer in Rendering and Interactive Simulation


The Computer-assisted Applications in Medicine group ( of the Computer Vision Lab is seeking an experienced software developer.

The tasks will involve designing and implementing a software framework as well as integrating the necessary hardware for a medical image simulation application. For a project in collaboration with industry, the candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and testing novel ideas in cutting-edge research, as well as for building various necessary image data collection setups, while also helping coordinate and conduct such data collection.   Subsequently, the candidate will also assist in interpreting and validating the collected data in the developed framework.  The position is open immediately.

Profile. To carry out the above tasks, we are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a masters or PhD in computer graphics or related areas. Experience in software system design and software development as well as in sensors and hardware integration are reasons for preference.  Prior experience with translational system development between the academic and commercial sector is a plus for the candidate.  Due to the scope of the project, familiarity with medical application development, fast parallelizable/GPU architectures, computer graphics techniques (in particular rendering/ray-tracing), and image processing will be additional qualities. Fluent written and spoken English is a must.
