Postdoc in Ultrasound Computed Tomography and Elastography


The Computer-assisted Applications in Medicine group ( in the Computer Vision Lab is seeking a qualified postdoc.

This position involves further developing and extending our efforts in the field of simulating ultrasound images for medical training, also in collaboration with industry.  The tasks will involve designing, developing, and testing novel ideas in cutting-edge research, as well as coordinating and conducting data collection for their evaluation. The position will also involve some basic project management and PhD co-supervision responsibilities.  Candidates are required to hold a doctoral degree and to have demonstrated considerable achievements in a related research field.  The position is open immediately.



  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • A good publication record in relevant fields, with a strong research interest and orientation
  • Good programming knowledge and experience with Matlab and C++
  • Interest, prior knowledge and experience in one or more of the following is a plus: volumetric image analysis, texture synthesis, inverse problems and optimization, interactive simulation, computer graphics, GPU programming, ray-tracing techniques,
  • Enthusiasm for leading-edge research, team spirit, and capability for independent problem-solving
  • Experience working in the medical domain and with clinical partners is an advantage
  • Experience with industrial collaboration is an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken English is a must
