Numerical modelling of the dynamics of viscoplastic flows with free interface

Abstract

This project concerns the mathematical and numerical modeling of viscoplastic flows featuring a small scale parameter. The theoretical developments are based on the method of Matched Asymptotic Expansions. A method to simulate the dynamics of the volcanic lava with free surface is developed in a finite difference framework. The solver is implemented using Matlab.
