Accurate patient registration and referencing is a key ele- ment in navigated surgery. Unfortunately all existing methods are either invasive or very time consuming. In this semester thesis an extension to the work performed by the BIWI/CV Lab on "Markerless Endoscopic Registration and Referencing" is proposed, by introducing a new method combining tracking and matching methods to get nearly real-time 3D re- construction. The 3D reconstruction can then be used for matching the pre-operative data to the intra-operative scene. In order to cope with the near real-time requirements for referencing, we use a novel, ecient, object-oriented 3D point management method during 3D model recon- struction.
