Since August 2008, I am an assistant professor at RWTH Aachen University. Please visit my new website there. My ETH website will persist as personal page until the new website is fully set up. I gave a tutorial on Visual Recognition at AAAI'08
in Chicago together with Kristen Grauman. The slides
can be found here. Our PAMI paper on
coupled detection and tracking has been accepted for
publication. CIVR'08 paper on
world-scale mining of objects from community photo
collections. Three CVPR'08 papers on
mobile pedestrian tracking, fast and accurate
registration for in-hand modeling, and camera
translation estimation. RSS'08 paper on
inferring meta-data from recognition for guiding a
robot's attention. I was awarded the DAGM Olympus Prize
(see here
for more information on the award). ISM Detector code
and example codebooks are available here. Our IJCV paper on
integrating recognition and reconstruction for urban
scene modeling has been accepted for publication. My IJCV paper on the
ISM recognition approach is finally going to
press. Datasets
available for the training and test sequences
from our ICCV'07 paper on Depth and Appearance
for Mobile Scene Analysis. Dataset available for
one of the test sequences from our CVPR'07 paper on
Dynamic 3D Scene Analysis from a Moving
Vehicle. I recently gave a tutorial on Local Feature
Based Object Recognition at the Summer
Workshop on Multi-Sensory Modalities in Cognitive
Science together with Tinne Tuytelaars. The
