Mobile Multimedia Processing
The research group Mobile Multimedia Processing has been established at RWTH Aachen University in context with the Cluster of Excellence "UMIC - Ultra High-Speed Mobile Information and Communication" and is associated with the Chair Computer Sciences 8 - Computer Graphics & Multimedia. The group focuses on computer vision applications for mobile devices and robotic or automotive platforms. Our main research areas are visual object recognition, tracking, self-localization, 3D reconstruction, and in particular combinations between those topics.

Professor Bastian Leibe received the DAGM Olympus Award for his scientific contributions in the fields of visual object categorization, segmentation, and tracking. The prize was awarded at the yearly symposium of the German Pattern Recognition Society (DAGM e.V.) in Munich in June 2008. The Olympus Award is given out each year for outstanding works in pattern recognition by the Olympus Foundation Europe together with the DAGM.
More information will follow shortly.
