We are constantly seeking candidates with a strong interest in performing cutting edge research in a very active and exciting research area. We offer research assistant positions, student assistant positions, and Diploma/Master theses.

We are currently looking for a student assistant (HiWi) for computer vision projects on the GPU. This job requires good programming skills and a solid interest in adapting computer vision algorithms for high-performance applications under C++ and CUDA. If you are interested, please contact us.

We permanently offer proposals for diploma thesis projects in areas across our research activities (see our research page) and related subjects. The diploma thesis topics are usually specified in cooperation with one of our research assistants and/or Prof. Leibe taking into account the student's individual interests and his/her previous knowledge as well as the current research agenda of the Mobile Multimedia Processing group (e.g. in terms of ongoing academic or industrial cooperations). So if you are interested in a thesis project in Computer Vision, please contact us. In order to guarantee a successful completion of the thesis, we usually expect our students to have

• a strong theoretical background in vision, graphics, or pattern recognition/machine learning,

• a solid interest in performing research in computer vision,

• a good working knowledge of C++, OpenGL and the Qt toolkit.

Prior experience in GPU programming and CUDA are a plus. Ideally, you would also have successfully passed the exam "Vertiefungsfach Computergraphik" or "Computer Vision" (first offered in WS 08/09).
